CBT and EMDR have both been found to be highly effective therapies. They are particularly effective for people with:
If you feel you are struggling with any of the above symptoms, you may benefit from a course of therapy.
The number of sessions required is individual to the person. An average treatment episode can range between 6-16 sessions.
The process of therapy moves through four main stages. Assessment, treatment planning, treatment and then planning for the end of therapy.
When we complete your assessment we will discuss your ongoing difficulties, life events that may have triggered this, any past treatment you have had and your goals.
In the treatment planning stage we will work together to understand your symptoms and what has caused them. We will then agree on what work we need to engage in to help you feel better.
What is covered in the treatment part of therapy is individual to you. However, no matter what work we cover we will spend time discussing your key issues and developing techniques to manage these.
When we come to the end of your sessions we will spend time discussing how you can plan for your future and maintain the progress and changes you have made.
The average time for a therapy session is 50-60 minutes.
Sessions can be face to face in Ormskirk Lancashire or via MS Teams UK wide.
