I am a CBT and EMDR therapist and have been working as a therapist for over 15 years. After I finished my psychology degree, I started out working in the field of criminal justice/substance misuse but I did not feel this was the right career path for me.
In 2009 I made a change and secured a post that allowed me to start my therapy training through the NHS. I completed my full CBT diploma in 2014 and have been working as a therapist ever since.
I currently work part time as a therapist in a local NHS Talking therapies team as well as part time in private practice. I have also spent time working within a specialist cardiac hospital.
I really enjoy the work that being a therapist brings and across my career I have had the pleasure of working with many people. This has allowed me to gain a wide range of experience and knowledge to enable me to treat all forms of depression and anxiety.
I believe therapy should not be a daunting experience. My goal is to ensure therapy is a positive experience where you always feel listened to and heard. It is important to me that through our sessions you find a person you can trust to share your difficulties with. Then, together we can find a way to help you manage these.
